    Amanda Woodhouse

    Veterinary Surgeon

    MRCVS

    Born and bred in Edinburgh, Amanda graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2013 and cut her teeth at a small animal practice in Cramlington. She joined us in 2015 and has since achieved her advanced veterinary practice certificate! In her spare time, she enjoys performing with a musical theatre society, playing netball and looking after her cat, Raool.

    Sam Renton

    Veterinary Surgeon

    MRCVS

    Originally from Massachusetts, Sam joined the team in 2018 after graduating from the Royal School of Veterinary Studies. She has a keen interest in ultrasonography and cardiology, and hopes to become a dog owner in the near future! She lives with her partner and enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to fitness classes, walking and playing netball.

    Veterinary Nurse

    Rachel began her career at a mixed practice in Perthshire and qualified as a vet nurse in 2008, later becoming a head nurse. She joined our team in 2012 and enjoys all aspects of nursing, especially surgery! In her spare time, she loves travelling, cooking, entertaining friends, and meeting up with her family.

    Receptionist/Admin

    Marisa has had a very exciting and varied career and has worked in hairdressing, 3 international airports, hospitality industry, Edinburgh trams and the Scottish Ambulance Service.

    She was born in Edinburgh is from Italian descent and has lived in Edinburgh most of her life, apart from a few years in Hampshire to live by the sea and enjoy the better weather. 

    Marisa joined Animac Vets as a full time receptionist in February 2022. Marisa is very passionate about all creatures large and small and loves helping our clients.

    In her spare time she enjoys traveling, photography, walks and spending time with friends and family.

    Kirstin Gorey

    Deputy Practice Manager

    Kirstin began her career in a small animal practice in Edinburgh in 1998, where she qualified and became Head Nurse in 2003. She has a keen interest in radiography and loves getting to know our clients and their furry friends. She joined our team in 2014 as a Receptionist and Veterinary Nurse and since 2020 has been our Deputy Practice Manager.

    When she is not working she is an avid sports fan and loves walking in East Lothian with her husband.

    Kirsten Ogilvie

    Practice Manager

    Kirsten qualified as a vet nurse in 1990. She worked in several practices for many years before trying something new, working eleven years at a veterinary practice management computer software company, before joining our team in 2012 as our practice manager. When she’s not at work, she enjoys traveling in her camper van, spending time with friends and family, listening to music, taking photos and gardening.
