Our Nurses

Rachel Ireland

Rachel started working as a trainee veterinary nurse (VN), in 2004 in a mixed practice in Perthshire. She qualified as a VN in 2008 and went on to become a Head Nurse.

Rachel joined Animac Vets in 2010.

She enjoys all aspects of nursing, especially surgery.

In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, cooking, entertaining friends, and spending time with her family.


Sam Brady

Sam joined Animac Vets in August 2016.
Sam started her training as a Veterinary Care Assistant in 2012, moving on to Veterinary Nurse training in 2013, becoming a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse in the summer of 2016.
She enjoys medical nursing and getting to know the clients and their pets.
In her spare time she enjoys walking her 2 whippets, Rollo and Hannah, fitness classes and spending time with family and friends.

Rachel Christie

Rachel qualified from Edinburgh Napier University with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Veterinary Nursing in June 2013. Since then she has worked in a small animal practice in Edinburgh and a veterinary hospital in Fife, before joining Animac in January 2017.

She enjoys all aspects of nursing, especially canine behaviour and conducting nursing clinics.
In her spare time she enjoys agility training and competing with her two terriers Charlie and Achilles.

Paula Murphy

Paula started her veterinary nursing training in 1998 and qualified in 2002.

She worked in an orthopedic referral practice as a referral nurse, but prefered general nursing and client interactions.

Paula enjoys anaesthesia and also loves getting to know and chatting with our clients.

In her spare time she enjoys socialising and fitness classes. She also loves being a Mum and moulding her two babies to become upstanding human beings!
